उत्तर फाल्गुनी नक्षत्र मन्त्र
Also known as: Uttara Phalguni, Star of Marriage, Leone Star

About

The Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra Mantra is a sacred invocation dedicated to the deity Aryaman, who presides over this lunar mansion. According to the Taittiriya Brahmana (1.5.2), Aryaman is the chief of the Pitris and the giver of marriage and prosperity. The nakshatra is the twelfth of the 27 asterisms and spans from 26°40' Leo to 10°00' Virgo in the sidereal zodiac. Its symbol is the back legs of a bed, signifying rest, comfort, and the consummation of marriage. The primary beej mantra associated is 'Om Aryamne Namah', which invokes Aryaman's blessings for harmonious partnerships. The Rigveda (10.85.23) mentions Aryaman in the context of marriage rituals, highlighting his role in uniting couples. Chanting this mantra is traditionally believed to remove obstacles in relationships, enhance mutual understanding, and ensure fidelity. It is recommended to recite 108 times daily, especially on Fridays or during the Uttara Phalguni nakshatra day, facing north or east. The ideal setting is a clean, quiet space with a lamp and offerings of white flowers and sweets. According to the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, this nakshatra is favorable for marriage ceremonies and partnership agreements. Cautions: Those with afflicted Aryaman in their birth chart should chant with devotion and avoid negative thoughts. The mantra should not be chanted during eclipses or without proper intent. Regular practice is said to bring the grace of Aryaman, leading to a blissful married life and successful collaborations.
