Kamala Yantra Mantra

कमला यन्त्र मन्त्र
Also known as: Kamala Yantra, Tantric Lakshmi Yantra, Gajalakshmi Yantra
§ 01
Origin & Tradition

About this mantra

The Kamala Yantra Mantra is a sacred formula associated with the Kamala Yantra, a geometric diagram representing the Tantric form of Lakshmi, known as Kamala. Kamala is the tenth of the Dasha Mahavidyas, the ten great wisdom goddesses in Shaktism, and embodies supreme wealth, prosperity, and beauty. The primary mantra, 'Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Kamalayai Namah,' combines three powerful bija (seed) syllables: 'Shreem' is the bija of Lakshmi, invoking abundance; 'Hreem' is the bija of Maya or the goddess's creative power; and 'Kleem' is the bija of attraction and desire. According to the 'Kamala Tantra', this mantra is chanted to invoke the goddess's grace for material and spiritual prosperity.

The yantra itself, as described in 'Yantra texts', consists of concentric lotus petals and geometric patterns, often flanked by elephants (Gajalakshmi), symbolizing royal splendor and fertility. The traditional purpose of this mantra is to attract wealth, remove poverty, and bestow all forms of prosperity, including health, success, and harmonious relationships. It is also used in Tantric rituals for fulfilling desires and gaining the goddess's favor. Recommended chanting context includes reciting 108 times daily, preferably in the morning after bathing, facing east, and meditating on the yantra.

Special occasions like Diwali, Navaratri, and Tantric rituals are considered highly auspicious. Practitioners should maintain purity and focus, as the mantra is potent. Cautions include avoiding chanting during impure states or without proper initiation, as Tantric mantras require guidance from a qualified guru to avoid misuse. The Kamala Yantra Mantra thus serves as a key to unlocking the benevolent energies of the lotus goddess, aligning the practitioner with cosmic abundance.
