The Kundalini Dhyana Mantra (Shat Chakra) comprises a set of bija (seed) mantras used for meditation on the six chakras (energy centers) from Muladhara to Ajna, excluding Sahasrara. These mantras are foundational in Kundalini Yoga and Tantric traditions, aiming to purify and activate each chakra, facilitating the ascent of Kundalini Shakti. The primary textual source is the *Shatchakra Nirupana* (a chapter in the *Tantra Chudamani*), which describes the chakras and their associated bija mantras. Additionally, the *Yoga Kundalini Upanishad* elaborates on the meditation techniques and benefits of these mantras. Each chakra has a specific bija: Lam (Muladhara), Vam (Swadhisthana), Ram (Manipura), Yam (Anahata), Ham (Vishuddhi), and Om (Ajna). These bija aksharas are phonetically designed to resonate with the subtle energies of each chakra, as per the *Mantra-Yoga-Samhita*. The traditional purpose is to purify the nadis (energy channels), balance the doshas, and awaken the dormant Kundalini. Regular chanting is believed to bestow physical health, mental clarity, and spiritual progress. Recommended chanting context: practice in a clean, quiet space, preferably at dawn or dusk. Each bija is chanted 108 times while focusing on the corresponding chakra. A full round of all six is often performed. Cautions: These mantras should be chanted under the guidance of a qualified guru, as improper practice may lead to energetic imbalances. They are not recommended for those with severe mental health conditions without expert supervision.
