Sampatti Raksha Mantra

सम्पत्ति रक्षा मन्त्र
Also known as: Wealth Protection, Asset Safety, Prosperity Guard
§ 01
Origin & Tradition

About this mantra

The Sampatti Raksha Mantra is a sacred invocation dedicated to the protection and preservation of wealth, assets, and material prosperity. Its textual origins are found in the Lakshmi Tantra, a Pancharatra text that elaborates on the worship of Goddess Lakshmi as the bestower and guardian of abundance. The mantra also draws from the Kubera Tantra, which focuses on Lord Kubera, the treasurer of the gods and the deity of wealth. The primary deities associated with this mantra are Lakshmi, the goddess of fortune, and Kubera, the lord of riches. Together, they are invoked to safeguard one's possessions from loss, theft, decay, or misfortune.

The mantra is often chanted with the beej-akshara (seed syllable) 'Shreem', which is the bija of Lakshmi, representing prosperity and radiance. The phoneme 'Shreem' is composed of 'Sh' (Shakti), 'R' (Raja, wealth), and 'M' (Maya, divine energy), creating a vibration that attracts and stabilizes abundance. According to the Lakshmi Tantra, the mantra is traditionally recited during the bright fortnight of the lunar month, especially on Fridays, which are sacred to Lakshmi. The recommended count is 108 repetitions per session, using a rosary of lotus seeds or crystal beads. The ideal ritual setting includes a clean, east-facing space with an image or yantra of Lakshmi and Kubera, offerings of rice, flowers, and a lamp ghee.

The mantra is particularly potent during Dhanteras and Diwali, when wealth is honored and protected. Chanting this mantra is believed to create a protective shield around one's assets, ensuring their growth and security. It is also used to remove obstacles to financial stability and to recover lost wealth. Cautions include avoiding chanting during inauspicious times like eclipses or while in a state of impurity. The mantra should not be used with greedy intentions, as its purpose is preservation, not accumulation at the expense of others.

The Sampatti Raksha Mantra thus serves as a spiritual tool for responsible wealth management, aligning material security with dharma.
