Sampurna Samriddhi Mantra

सम्पूर्ण समृद्धि मन्त्र
Also known as: Complete Prosperity, Full Abundance, Total Wealth
§ 01
Origin & Tradition

About this mantra

The Sampurna Samriddhi Mantra is a sacred invocation for complete prosperity, encompassing material wealth, spiritual abundance, and holistic well-being. Its textual origin is traced to the Lakshmi Tantra, a Vaishnava Agama text that expounds the worship of Goddess Lakshmi as the supreme bestower of prosperity. The mantra is also referenced in the Padma Purana, which describes Lakshmi as the embodiment of sampurna samriddhi (fullness of abundance). The mantra is composed of bija (seed) syllables that resonate with the energy of Lakshmi.

The term 'Sampurna' signifies completeness, while 'Samriddhi' denotes prosperity. The phonetics of the mantra, often beginning with 'Om' and incorporating 'Shrim' (the bija of Lakshmi), align with the subtle vibrations that attract abundance. According to the Lakshmi Tantra, chanting this mantra invokes the goddess's grace to remove obstacles to prosperity and to fulfill all desires. The traditional purpose is to attain wealth, health, success, and spiritual growth.

It is recommended to chant 108 times daily, preferably during sunrise or on auspicious days like Diwali and Akshaya Tritiya. The ritual setting includes a clean space, an image or yantra of Lakshmi, and offerings of flowers, incense, and sweets. Cautions include maintaining purity of body and mind, avoiding chanting during impure states, and not using the mantra for selfish or harmful purposes. The mantra is considered a powerful tool for holistic abundance when chanted with devotion and proper intent.
