Supreme Prosperity Maha Lakshmi Kubera Samyukta Mantra

महा लक्ष्मी कुबेर संयुक्त मन्त्र
Also known as: Lakshmi Kubera, Combined Wealth, Supreme Prosperity

About

The Supreme Prosperity Maha Lakshmi Kubera Samyukta Mantra is a powerful combined invocation that unites the energies of Maha Lakshmi, the goddess of fortune and abundance, and Maha Kubera, the lord of treasures and wealth. This mantra is revered for bestowing both spiritual and material prosperity upon the practitioner. Its textual origins are found in the Lakshmi Tantra, a Pancharatra text that elaborates on the worship of Lakshmi as the supreme goddess, and the Kubera Tantra, which details the rites for propitiating Kubera. The mantra is also referenced in the Mantra Mahodadhi, a comprehensive compendium of mantras, where such combined mantras are prescribed for holistic wealth. The deity association is dual: Maha Lakshmi represents the grace that brings abundance, while Maha Kubera symbolizes the custodianship of wealth. The beej-aksharas (seed syllables) in the mantra—such as 'Shreem' (the bija of Lakshmi), 'Hreem' (the bija of the heart and Maya), and 'Kleem' (the bija of attraction and Kamala)—are phonetically potent sounds that resonate with specific cosmic energies. 'Shreem' is said to invoke prosperity and radiance, 'Hreem' purifies and transforms, and 'Kleem' attracts and fulfills desires. According to the Shaktisangama Tantra, the combination of these bijas with the names of Kubera and Lakshmi creates a synergistic effect that harmonizes material and spiritual wealth. The traditional purpose of this mantra is to remove financial obstacles, increase income, and ensure the steady flow of resources while also fostering inner contentment and spiritual growth. It is chanted for the attainment of both spiritual and material wealth, for the complete prosperity of the practitioner, and for the blessings of the supreme goddess of fortune and the lord of treasures. Recommended chanting context includes recitation during the auspicious days of Dhanteras and Diwali, as well as on Fridays, which are dedicated to Lakshmi. The ideal count is 108 repetitions per session, preferably in the morning after bathing, facing east or north. A ritual setting may involve a clean altar with images or yantras of Lakshmi and Kubera, offerings of lotus flowers, rice, and coins, and the lighting of a ghee lamp. Cautions: This mantra should be chanted with pure intentions and not for selfish or harmful purposes. It is advised to maintain a sattvic diet and avoid intoxicants during the practice period. As with all powerful mantras, proper initiation from a qualified guru is recommended for maximum efficacy, though tradition holds that sincere devotion can also yield results.
