Vibhava Mantra

विभव मन्त्र
Also known as: Manifestation Wealth, Abundance Creation, Vibhava
§ 01
Origin & Tradition

About this mantra

The Vibhava Mantra is a sacred formula dedicated to the manifestation of wealth and abundance. The term 'vibhava' (विभव) in Sanskrit denotes manifested wealth, prosperity, and the power of abundance. This mantra is primarily associated with Goddess Lakshmi, the consort of Vishnu and the deity of fortune, as well as with Kubera, the treasurer of the gods and lord of wealth.

According to the Lakshmi Tantra, a Pancharatra text, the chanting of vibhava-related mantras invokes the goddess's grace to bring material prosperity and remove obstacles to wealth. The Kubera Tantra similarly prescribes mantras for invoking Kubera's blessings for financial stability. The mantra is often chanted with the seed syllable 'Shreem' (श्रीं), which is the bija of Lakshmi, representing abundance and radiance.

The phoneme 'Shreem' combines the sibilant 'sh' with the resonant 'r' and the nasal 'm', creating a vibration that aligns with the energy of prosperity. The recommended chanting count is 108 repetitions per session, ideally during the morning or evening, especially on auspicious days like Dhanteras and Akshaya Tritiya. Practitioners are advised to chant with a clear mind and focused intention, preferably after bathing and in a clean space.

While the mantra is generally safe, it should be chanted with respect and not for selfish or harmful purposes. The Vibhava Mantra is a powerful tool for those seeking to align with the cosmic forces of abundance and to manifest material well-being in accordance with dharma.
